Many businesses are not aware that floor renovation and refurbishment is a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to installing a new floor.
In the modern world where resources and energy are becoming scarcer and impact on the climate is ever increasing, this school in the Lake District made a wise decision to renovate rather than replace and saved time, cost and energy efficiencies. The photos below show before and after results and the CO2, energy, time and cost savings.
BEFORE AFTER
CO2 savings
Area: 1,100 square metres, CO2 saving per Sq Metre 10,26. Total 11286 Kg per entire floor
Energy savings
Area: 1,100 square metres, (kWh) per sqm 50, Total 55,000 (kWh) per entire floor
Time Savings
Ripping out and installing a new floor typically takes 2 to 3 weeks – with Bona resilient floor refurbishment system there was a like new floor in just 5 days from start to finish! Not only did this save time but also it kept disruption to a minimum.
Cost Savings
It’ not just the cost to buy a whole new floor it’s the cost to rip out the existing floor, repair or replace sub-floors, dispose of the old floor and install the new floor. Typically for a 1100 M2 area the cost would be 50-60% more to install a similar resilient floor.
